Welcome!  My name is Victorino Moreira and I serve as a senior level college advisor with over 15 years worth of experience providing culturally-responsive advising for young adults that allow them to properly navigate the college and post-college experience.  I also provide culturally-responsive advising to the parents and guardians of these young adults as well!

Virtual Advising Overview

Virtual Advising For Young Adults That Are:
Currently Enrolled in College
Recently Graduated from College

The college (and post-college) experience is filled with moments of joy, pain and everything in between.  How you, as a current or former college student, respond in these moments will impact your future for the better or for the worse!  I play the role of the “sense maker.”  I make sure that you are aware of the key factors you need to take into consideration before making any major decision during your college experience and post-college experience.  I also do my best to “speak life into you” from a holistic lens.  I know how it feels to be lost, confused, and/or unmotivated.  It’s my job to get “your head right!”  My advising sessions are “judgement free zones” as no topic is off limits.  And because my advising sessions are culturally-responsive, we don’t need to waste anytime clarifying certain ideas, words, or phrases that define the world you experience.  I'm not affiliated with any organization or university so your best interest is my only concern.

Testimonies

“I reached out to Victor after getting kicked out of my major.  I was lost and confused.  I was close to dropping out, but he helped me understand that my plans for my future didn’t have to change just because my major didn’t work out for me anymore.”

Shaun T.
(Riverside, CA)

“I was low and needed motivation.  Going to class was a struggle and I really wasn’t in the right space both mentally and emotionally.  I was able to have two sessions with Victor and he sparked the fire I once had and lost.”

Kemi O.
(Houston, TX)

“I just graduated, and I was completely lost.  My mother recommended that I met with Vic, and I was skeptical at first.  Once he told me his story, I was convinced that he was the right person to speak to.  I plan on reaching out again soon!”

Virtual Advising For Parents and Guardians

Doing your part to guide your child through college and into the post-college period is not an easy job.  For you as a parent or guardian, my role is to provide culturally-responsive advising as it relates to the decisions and support you decide to give (or not give) your child during and after college.  You have the best of intentions for your child, but operating off outdated information, incomplete information, and/or information that does properly pertain to your child and family’s reality can potentially lead to disastrous results.  You need to consult with someone you can trust.  I only have you and your child’s best interest at heart as I operate independently; I’m not affiliated with any organization or university.  My culturally-responsive advising already takes into consideration the realities you and your family face so peace of mind will be had!

Testimonies

“As a parent you hope that you are doing the right thing by your children.  We often don’t have any support to confirm if we are doing the right thing.  We’re just going of what feels to be right and that’s scary.  Victor is the answer to this problem.”

Terry S.
(Moreno Valley, CA)

“I went to college decades ago along my ex-wife.  I had no doubt that I was comparing my son’s situation to that of myself when I was in college.  What I knew to be true is laughably not so anymore.  A thousand thanks to Victor for helping me see that.”

Maria S.
(Arcadia, CA)

“He gets it!  Victor spoke with me and not at me as if he knew better than me.  He was patient and took the time to explain certain concepts and ideas I was unfamiliar with.  Speaking with him felt like was speaking with a trusted family member.”

Malyka B.
(Sacramento, CA)
